FaZe knock out EnVyUs; through to playoffs

FaZe are through to DreamHack Masters Marseille's playoffs after defeating EnVyUs 2-0 in Group A's decider match.
Day three of DreamHack Masters Marseille began on Train with a rematch of one of the opening encounters of the event as FaZe took on Envy in a battle for survival. On Wednesday, Finn "karrigan" Andersen's side had breezed past the Frenchmen, but this time around they would not find things that easy - at least on Train.
Vincent "Happy" Schopenhauer opened up the action on the first map of the series with a quad-kill on the retake to put Envy in the lead. FaZe responded in a third-round buy, only to be stunned by the Frenchmen's CZs in the following round.
With Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács leading the charge, FaZe tried to gain control of the game, but every time that it seemed like they were going to build up a solid bank, they were caught off-guard by Envy' pistols. As the half came to an end, FaZe found themselves trailing their opponents by a solitary round.
Ali "hAdji" Haïnouss went huge in the second pistol and picked up four kills to kick Envy further into the lead. That was the start of a great run from the French team, who picked up the next four rounds to take their lead to 13-7. With no room for error, FaZe tightened up their defence and lost just one more round for the rest of the half to run out 16-14 victors.
Next up was Overpass, where the first half was a complete blowout. Any round that Envy took was quickly countered with a round by FaZe, leaving the CTs strapped for cash numerous times.
Up 12-3 at the break, FaZe piled more misery on their opponents after taking the pistol round off the back of a triple-kill from Håvard "rain" Nygaard. The European mixture would remain in control until the very end and quickly wrapped things up to seal passage to the playoffs.
